Peers of Pope Francis Criticize Steve Bannon’s “Apocalyptic” Worldview

Peers of Pope Francis Criticize Steve Bannon’s “Apocalyptic” Worldview

A still from FRONTLINE’s documentary, “Bannon’s War.”
Less than three years before he entered the White House as President Donald Trump’s chief strategist, Stephen Bannon participated in a Vatican conference where he portrayed himself as a combatant in an epic war for the soul of Western civilization.
“We’re at the very beginning stages of a very brutal and bloody conflict. We are in an outright war against jihadist Islam, Islamic fascism,” Bannon says in the rare footage, which appeared in the May 2017 FRONTLINE documentary Bannon’s War. “And this war is, I think, metastasizing almost far quicker than governments can handle it.”

Now, Bannon has been criticized as “a supporter of an apocalyptic geopolitics” by two associates of Pope Francis in a Jesuit-run journal whose contents are vetted by the Vatican, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.
In an essay that appears in La Civiltà Cattolica, the Rev. Antonio Spadaro and Marcelo Figueroa analyze the nexus between fundamentalist evangelical Christians and American conservative Catholics. They list Bannon among the exponents of a “dominionist” doctrine that “submit[s] the state to the Bible with a logic that is no different from the one that inspires Islamic fundamentalism.”
“Theirs is a prophetic formula: fight the threats to American Christian values and prepare for the imminent justice of an Armageddon, a final showdown between Good and Evil, between God and Satan,” Spadaro and Digueroa write.

In his 2014 talk to attendees of the Vatican conference, Bannon outlined what he saw as a battle between Western civilization and “radical Islam,” saying, “I believe the world and particularly the Judeo-Christian West is in a crisis.”
“He has kind of reduced all of the conflicts of modern society to that essential faceoff between the terrorists and the Americans,” Marc Fisher of The Washington Post told FRONTLINE in Bannon’s War.
It remains unclear whether the essay received the pope’s blessing, though according to The Times, “there has apparently been no reprimand from the pope.” Bannon, a former altar boy, wrote in a brief email to The Times that the pope’s associates “lit me up.”
To learn more about how Bannon’s worldview came to be, and how it has resonated with President Donald Trump, watch Bannon’s War. From Michael Kirk and his team, the documentary explores who Bannon is, what shaped his mission to disrupt the establishment, and his role in the power struggles and policy clashes of Trump’s presidency…..https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/peers-of-pope-francis-criticize-steve-bannons-apocalyptic-worldview/

PRAYER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF MY LIFE TO GET MY LIFE BACK.

PRAYER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF MY LIFE TO GET MY LIFE BACK.

Loving Father God,

I confess that I have been trying to sort things out in my own life for far too long, rather them handing over the reins of my life to You. Lord Jesus, I also know that I have been trying to carry the worries of others on my shoulders, and in my own strength, as well as dealing with my own concerns and anxieties. Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I can’t do this anymore, and want to cast everything on to You, in Jesus name, otherwise I know I will go under, and this is not Your will for my life, so please hear my plea and come to my rescue, and forgive me for trying to be self-dependent, instead of God-dependent.

Dear Lord Jesus, Please hear my prayer.

I go along each day, trying to run my life my own way. I forget to let go and give you complete control. I wonder why things aren’t going the way I want them to go. I forget to stop and ask what you want, Lord God Jesus.

Please help me to give you control. I want to follow you. I want what you desire for me.

Help me to realize that when you close one door, you open the one you want me to walk through. Help me also to realize that what I desire may not be what is meant for me, or what is best for me.

Maybe it will lead me away from what your great plan is for me.

So my Lord Jesus, I give you my life, and give you full and total control of life to you, in Jesus name. Lord, let me accept each day as a gift. Let me follow the path you choose for me. Help me to be thankful for what you give me, and not to worry about my needs. I trust you will take care of all my needs, in Jesus name. Remind me that my role is to care for those around me, and focus on those who need my help.

Help me not to be judgmental, as we are all equal in God’s eyes. Help me to see the good in all of your creations. Let me leave the judging to you, dear Jesus. Instead, I will concentrate on living to please you.

Help me dear Lord Jesus, be who and what you want me to be. Give me strength, faith and hope, and most of all, give me guidance each and every day. I let go everything and give you total control, in Jesus name. Thank You for Your many precious promises to help and comfort us, and to carry all our cares on Your shoulders. Lord Jesus, please carry me now in Your loving arms, and may I learn to abide in You, and not to try to do everything in my own strength. Thank You for the truth that Your grace is sufficient, and help me to truly apply this in my life from this day forward. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS AND REPENTANCE.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS AND REPENTANCE.

Father God, there are no words to express how filthy I feel, every time I break Your heart. The guilt and the shame are overwhelming! Lord, I need Your touch right now. I am so sick of being “born again” and still doing the things I hate doing. As it is written in Romans 7:15, Like Paul I am conflicted.” , “For I do not do what I want, but do the very thing that I hate, I am so sorry! Father, I ask for Your forgiveness right now. I am shocked that my life has come to a point, where even some sins don’t affect me at all. Father, I have some hard layers on my heart that need peeling. Please give me a 100% heart of flesh.
The hardness is a barrier between us that I can’t stand! I love You and I am so regrettably sorry for my selfish actions. Thank You for Your forgiveness Lord. Without forgiveness I am nothing. With Your forgiveness I am whole again. Father God, I also ask forgiveness of all the negative and harmful words, I have spoken about myself. I do not want to abuse myself in such a way again. Transform my thoughts and let me understand how marvelously you made me. Please change my habits so I use my tongue to speak hope and favor upon my life, In Jesus’ name. I repent O God most merciful for all my sins; for every thought that was false or unjust or unclean; for every word spoken that ought not to have been spoken; and for every deed done that ought not to have been done; I repent for every deed and word and thought inspired by selfishness, and for every deed and word and thought inspired by hatred. I repent most specially for every lustful thought and every lustful action; for every lie; for all hypocrisy; for every promise given but not fulfilled, and for all slander and backbiting. Most specially also, I repent for every action that has brought ruin to others, for every word and deed that has given others pain;
and for every wish that pain should befall others. In Your unbounded mercy, I kindly ask you to forgive me, O God, for all these sins committed by me, and to forgive me for my constant failures, to think and speak and act according to Your will. My Lord Jesus, I repent of all the sin in my life. I repent of the sins that I know of, and the sins that I don’t know of. If there is any sin that I don’t know of, please bring it to my mind that I may repent. Please forgive me Lord of any pride, rebellion, vanity, jealousy, judging, distrust, prejudice, dishonesty, theft, greed, spiritual adultery or fornication, or any spiritual murder, in Jesus name. Please forgive me if there is any refusal or inability to forgive others. Please help me forgive as you forgive. I thank you Lord Jesus for washing me clean with the holy blood. I thank you Lord for creating in me a clean heart, and renewing a right spirit within me, a spirit that will worship you, glorify you, and serve you for the rest of my life, in Jesus name.
Thank You Lord for blotting out my transgressions for Your own sake, and that You will not remember my sins. Thank you Lord that If I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness, as it is written in your word in First of John 1:9. Thank you my Lord Jesus that you forgive all my iniquities, you heal all my diseases, you redeem my life from destruction, and crown me with loving-kindness and tender mercies. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
